Ingredients

  • 5 eggs, or more if you like (from Stick & Feather Farm!)

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 tablespoon vinegar

For marinade:

  • 1/2 C soy sauce

  • 1/2 C water

  • 1/2 C honey

  • 3 garlic gloves, chopped

  • 3-4 scallions, chopped (OR -- you can use radishes from Stick & Feather Farm!)

  • 1 tablespoon ginger, chopped

  • 1 green chili, chopped

  • 1 red chili, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. Boil the eggs to your preference. Place them immediately in an ice bath to keep them from continued cooking.

  2. Mix in all the ingredients of the marinade in a bowl.

  3. Peel the eggs and put them in a containter with a lid, glass works best! Pour the marinade over the eggs. Cover with the lid and refrigerate overnight.

  4. You can turn the eggs in the marinade in 4-5 hours so the get even color all over.

  5. Mayak eggs are ready to egg the next morning, yaaaaay!
